PINK CHAMPAGNE (EXCLUSIVE GROWER) (3.5G+ and up)
Strain Highlights
Pink Champagne goes by many names, including Wow Kush, Raspberry Kush, Phantom ( or Ken’s Phantom). Bred in the Bay area by Ken Estes, who crossed Ken’s Granddaddy Purple and Cherry Pie, this sedative beauty is not to be confused with Phantom Cookies. The buzz lands behind the eyes and emanates outwards, making this a suitable strain for patients suffering from migraines and physical discomfort. With notes of grape and berry, this strain imbues smokers with weighted eyes and a “couch lock” effect, making it a pre-sleep ripper useful for insomnia.
Overview
Champagne Kush, also just called Champagne, is a 50/50 hybrid with bright to medium toned green buds that are covered in orange hairs and smell faintly of the beverage after which they are named. Despite the name of Kush, this strain's Indica effects are fewer, providing a light body high that may make users feel very tingly. The strain's cerebral effects are much more prominent, filling users' mind with a warming, mood elevating euphoria. Users of this strain report a rise in the desire to socialize, becoming much more talkative. Even the "champagne of weed" is not without the usual negative side-effects, dry mouth and eyes, dizziness, headaches and paranoia.
A good strain for use during the daytime, Champagne Kush's tingling body high may ease some lesser chronic aches and pains. However, it is more often chosen by those looking to fight the chaining effects of stress, anxiety and depression related disorders. A few find that this strain helps them sleep easier as well.
Champagne Kush is a cross between Hashplant and a Kush that had been pollinated by a male Burmese plant. This strain grows short, rarely reaching above 55 centimeters, and flowers in between eight and ten weeks. Outdoors the strain is ready for harvest in mid-November. Champagne Kush can provide a medium to high yield that has been tested at a 15 percent THC level.
Strain Information
Hybrid - 50% Sativa /50% Indica
THC: 26%, CBD: 6%
Though not especially potent in terms of THC, Champagne Kush (aka Champagne) is an effective means of treating several medical conditions: chronic pain, depression, anxiety, loss of appetite, and nausea, among others. THC makes up no more than 15% of this strain in available tests. CBD content is much lower, less than 1%. In other words, this strain is not a good choice as a front-line treatment for epilepsy or other conditions that require that chemical. Champagne Kush is an even blend of sativa and indica (50:50 sativa/indica ratio), the offspring of Hash Plant, an indica-dominant strain, and the original Hindu Kush, an Afghani indica. The indica and sativa effects are balanced, creating a euphoric, tingling body buzz with increased sociability and happiness. This strain gets its name from its unique, champagne-like aroma and flavor, though there are additional notes of sweetness, flowers, and soil. The bud is bright green with long orange strands and a light frosting of crystals. Cottonmouth and bloodshot eyes are the only widely reported adverse effects, though dizziness, headaches, and paranoia are also possible. Champagne Kush is popular on the West Coast, in Arizona, and in New Mexico.
